Fresh from Oscar success for playing Prof. Stephen Hawking (The Theory of Everything), it seems as though Eddie Redmayne may have next years award sewn up already (The Oscars are synonymous with handing out awards for those who challenge themselves).
The above image is from The Danish Girl, directed by Tom Hooper (The King's Speech), adapted from David Ebershoff's novel of the same name.
The film is based on the true story of Danish artist Einar Wegener (Redmayne) whom later became Lili, one of the first men to undergo gender reassignment surgery in 1930.
It is a very challenging role and one that, after his performance in The Theory of Everything, Redmayne should be able to pull off. Although, mentally, this will be a complete change.
The Danish Girl is set for release later this year.
